The Sky and Culture Corporation was founded by James Leonard and Aaron Taylor Kuffner while at Syracuse University. The Corporation sold subscriptions to Sky and membership plans to Culture in suburban Syracuse in the fall of 1995. Kuffner and Leonard trained as method actors, and officially registered as door-to-door salesmen, developing sculptural props to help sell subscription to the actual sky outside people’s door and memberships plans to the local culture. Kuffner and Leonard lost contact in the 90’s, but Leonard curated an exhibition of their costumes, props, and permits in the years following the project which he documented on his artist website: https://www.jamesleonard.org/collections/social-engagement-1/products/sky-culture
